Keep Up With Me! My Pick!

I’m one of those people who love leather, well, fur too, but leather is my weak spot.  I adore real soft leather on my shoes, on my boots… Brow, black or grey, printed or not, leather is one thing my wardrobe cannot ‘live without’. Jackets and gloves, belts and bags too… Leather gives it that rock’n’roll touch and a bit of an aggressive and serious tone; every girl need a bit of that once in a while. But that’s not all leather can provide… Have you ever thought of putting on a leather dress or skirt, or buying leather pants? No? Well, think again…

This mini skirt from Barbara Bui featuring a gathered waistband and two front zip pockets is made of pure lamb leather! It is tight enough to bring out a woman’s curves, yet it’s still causal and loose so a person wearing it can move around and sit down without having to think about revealing too much. With a concealed side zip entry and a length just enough to cover what a lady needs to cover, you cannot pass as ‘plain’ or ‘ordinary’ in a skirt like this.

Wear it with a nude silk top with elasticated black straps, tuck it in the skirt so it looks like a blouse. A.L.C. top has a V-neck, a button-fastening placket and an asymmetric back. It is fully lined, made of 100% silk so it simply slips on. I love this neutral color; it matches perfectly with carbon black leather skirt  Of course, you can wear a top like this with any kind of jeans (skinny or boot cut) or trousers (high waist, tweed and cashmere), so it’s really your choice; this is just my suggestion

You always need one piece of clothing, one main item that brings the entire outfit together and has the story of it’s own. In this collection, that item could be the black leather skirt, but… Have you seen the animal-printed faux-fur jacket with open front? Well, stop for a second and try this jacket, touch the fur… Tucker jacket is collarless is fully lined. It has cropped sleeves and front pouch pockets; it’s clearly a classic and it matches with everything that has simple lines and is rather feminine.

OK; when we have a skirt, a blouse and a jacket or a coat, we have to decide what shoes to put on. Heels or no heels? Well… Heels of course! Wedge boots with lace up flap by Giuseppe Zanotti for Thakoon is my personal favorite for an outfit like this. Wooden heel wedge boot with lace up side flaps and a tapered toe will lift separate you from the ‘mortals’. Shaft sides wrap around front and can be laced closed; heel cap extends up into shaft sides. It’s made of 100% leather; no surprise, right?  A stacked wedge tapers towards back, a hidden platform at ball of foot and leather sole and insole – I’m not sure about you, but that’s all I need.

When you’re just about to leave the house, grab a velvet flap front clutch with push-lock closure and removable shoulder strap. Perfect for a night out! Phillip Lim Cameron Spike Clutch with snake-embossed leather and gold-tone spike trim is simply gorgeous. Fabric lined interior and separate zip compartment – an ideal accessory! But wait! You still don’t have jewelry!

Black ribbon necklace with Swarovski crystal and black bead-embellished flowers makes a perfect partner to the leather skirt! Two chunky gold-tone brass chains at drop go with golden details on the clutch. Marni necklace has also embroidered logo detail at end of the tie and fastens at back of the neck. I’m done and ready to hit the party! What about you?
